Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO)

PSEO at HCIS - Student Steps

Participation in the PSEO program is demanding. It requires a great deal of independence on your part. The responsibility of understanding the application process, meeting deadlines, mailing documents, and communicating with your high school and post secondary institution is yours.

1. Set up a meeting with PSEO Coordinator (Andy) in April if interested in taking Fall classes (of the following school year) and October if interested in taking Spring Semester classes.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss:

The reasons you wish to be in the program
Your eligibility
The benefits and pitfalls of being in the program
Any questions you may have
Which college may be appropriate
College credit option here at HCIS

2. Seek info about the particular college you are interested in. What are their particular application requirements? What courses do they offer that you may be interested in? (See attached info)

3. Prepare all required materials—forms, letters of recommendation, tests, essays, transcripts, signatures, appointments—well before the application deadline for the college you are interested in.

4. Mail documents before the application deadline.

5. If accepted, follow your particular college’s suggestions for orientation and registration.
