Harbor City guidance currently exists to be a resource for Post-High School exploration and planning. While we can provide opportunity and resources for exploration and planning, the majority of the work depends on the efforts of the student. We are here to 'guide' students as they aspire to grow in and beyond high school.

Andy Larson our Guidance Counselor counsels & teaches students on academic, personal/social, career & post-high school prep issues. Andy also works with the school social worker to help students and their families in need of assistance in and out of school.

Base Camps

Much student advisement is done within our Base Camp system. All students attend Base Camps three times a week. Base Camp meets every Monday, Wednesday & Friday, after second period for 15 minutes of the day. In Base Camp they receive advisement from the same Base Camp Adviser all 4 years at HCIS. They build community with a familiar group of students and staff through Base Camp.
