Students and faculty are engaged in collaboration efforts with local and regional community organizations and businesses. True collaboration is a mutually beneficial relationship. The community shares its gifts and talents with the students of Harbor City International School while students enrich, diversify, and provide services within their community.

With its emphasis on inquiry, experiential, and service learning, Harbor City International School connects students to business, service, adventure, and creative arts opportunities. Harbor City International School encourages and aides their students in finding experiences that bring relevancy to their studies, as well as challenges and inspiration.

Students find themselves volunteering in an elementary classroom, assisting in water quality testing, working with Duluth’s Sister Cities, helping families at local shelters, showing their art in a community exhibit, pounding nails with Habitat for Humanity, working in a hospital, shadowing their dream job, or working on behalf of a cause that they support.
