SENIOR PROJECT PRESENTATIONS

The 6th Annual Senior Project Presentations begin on May 4th. Senior Projects are an integral part of the climactic end of the school year at HCIS. Students were charged in January to develop an independent project that:

●	Is driven by student passions
●	Develops skills and knowledge that will be useful to the student after graduation
●	Involves 100 hours of documented work
●	Is multi-dimensional
●	Connects students to the community outside of HCIS
●	Like any mythic journey, involves hardship, toil, stress, and joy

This year's projects range from assembling an artist's portfolio, to a study of wolves, to designing a castle, to becoming an activist. Please consider attending one or more of the presentation events this May. Check the calendar (on the left side under Menu) for specific dates and student presenters.

To regional tournament they go….

Harbor City’s Varsity Knowledge Bowl team is off to the tier two regional tournament on Monday March 22, 2010 in Mountain Iron. This year’s team members are Nolan Dwyer, Seth Feralin, Simon Hamel, Joey Billings, Cosmo Wolfe and John Namaste. The team began the year with a 12th place finish at the January meet and a 5th place finish in February. At the March meet they placed 2nd.

The Knowledge Bowl competition includes a written round of 45 questions. Then teams are ranked (and re-ranked) for the three oral rounds. Each oral round consists of 45 questions with three teams of approximately equal ranking playing head to head in against each other with speed buzzers. The competition level is very intense in the top two rooms which includes the top six ranked team at a meet.

Please wish these students luck.
